Overview

The Bale Mountains, located in the southeast of Ethiopia, are considered to be A unique Ecosystem In the Ethiopian Highlands. The main attractions of the park are the wild alpine scenery and a chance to see the Ethiopian Wolf in the wild. This five day trip from Addis Ababa, will include three and half days of trekking in the national park. Starting from Dinsho and finishing at the Sanetti Plateau, this trek will give you a great opportunity to stretch your legs and see a wide variety of Ethiopian mammals, birdlife and fauna.

Itinerary

In the morning after breakfast you will drive to Dinsho,via Asella road (400km from Addis). Enroute you will make a stop on Awash town for fresh juice. You will have lunch onthe way.
We will proceed driving and arrive in Dinsho late afternoon. Up on arrival you will check into a set up Tents.

After a brief break and tea at the campsites, you will have time to make a short hike along the woodland part of the national park chance to spot endemic Mountain Nyala, Menelick Bushback, Bohor Reedbuck and bird species.

Overnight: camping near Dinsho Lodge.
Elevation: 3100m asl

As soon as reaching the beautiful Web valley after set up our tents Wii have trekking and driving to spot Ethiopian wolf this 2 days in the Web valley.
This area is one best place to spot and photograph the Ethiopian Wolf, So the best way to see and get closer to wolves in this area and the frist highest populations habitats for the Wolves.

Overnight: Camping at Sodota campsite.
Elevation: 3500m asl

n the morning after breakfast, you will drive to sanetti plateau (an altitude of over 4000metres, covered by afro-alpine moorland with beautiful wild alpine scenery) and drive to the second highest point in Ethiopia (Tullu Deemtu 4377 Metres below sea level). The plateau is the second-best place to spot Ethiopian Wolf.
Continuing to Harenna forest (Tropical rain forest) and drive back to Sanetti plateau as optional depends on your interest drive back to Robe hotel.

Overnight: Tokkumma hotel, Robe ( 2500m)

Morning:
Drive to Awash National Park through the volcanic mountains and valleys, and witness the lava on both sides of the road as freshly turned earth. We will visit beautiful Beseka Lake rich in bird life.

After visiting the alkaline Lake Beseka, we will continue our visit to the base of the Fentale Volcanic Mountain, one of the youngest volcanic mountains. At the base of this mountain is a very big and recent rift formed by the volcanic activity in the region.

Afternoon:
Have the oppurtunity in the savanna as well as hippos living at the nearby lake. The fantastic hot springs are certainly another highlight of the lodge.
Your lodge today is located in a very beautiful part of the park overlooking the Awash River waterfall.

Overnight: Awash Falls Lodge or Genet Hotel, Awash National Park.

Morning:
After a morning game drive and our breakfast, we drive to the Awash National Park. We will reach the Awash Park Lodge located next to the Awash Falls for lunch.

Afternoon:
We have the opportunity to spot a great variety of birds and mammals in the savanna as well as crocodiles living at the river. We will enjoy an impressive sunset over the Awash River gorge.

Overnight: Awash Falls Lodge or Genet Hotel, Awash National Park.

Morning / Afternoon:
After our morning game drive, we depart for Harar (8 hrs), stopping at Avadai, Ethiopia’s biggest Khat market, and Dire Dawa. In the evening, you will see the “Hyena Man” feeding the hyenas that gather nightly outside the town. With a little courage, you may of course also feed the hyenas yourself!

Morning/Afternoon:
Today we discover the 16th-century walled city of Harar, the fourth most important city in the Islamic World and a UNESCO world heritage site. It feels as if time has stood still here. We will visit the home of Arthur Rimbaud, the renowned French poet who lived in Harar, the National and Harari museums; the house of Ras Mekonnen (the father of Haile Selassie); traditional Harari homes, the market, and many more interesting places.

Morning / Afternoon:
We take the flight at noon back to Addis. A day room will be provided. You will have time for sightseeing and/or shopping.
Evening:
You will be invited to a memorable farewell dinner in one of Addis Ababa’s traditional restaurants with cultural songs, dances, and traditional food. You will then be transferred to Bole International Airport for departure or be transferred to your reserved hotel if you continue your stay in Ethiopia
